The Taste of Suffolk

We are a family run business based in the historic market town of Bury St Edmunds. The company produces a range of sausages, cured and cooked meat products using traditional recipes and methods in our Salsa (Safe and Local Supplier Approval) accredited premises.

The Beginning

The Taste of Suffolk was formed in 2010 when two Suffolk businesses, DP Meats and Country Cottage were acquired by the Simons family, proprietors of the long-established, Essex based Broad Oak Farm Sausage Company. DP Meats and Country Cottage, at that time, had been producing quality sausages, bacon and ham in Bury St Edmunds for over 30 years.

The Simons’ Family

Our tradition in the food industry spans over 50 years and three generations. We have long been associated with quality award winning sausages and ham. Some of our sausage recipes can be traced back almost 100 years.

The business, now in its third generation, is run by Christopher Simons, supported by a loyal and dedicated workforce. You can read more about our history and heritage as well as view our range of delicious products on broadoakfarm.com

Where to Find Our Products

We produce a range of products marketed under our own The Taste of Suffolk brand which can be found in the East of England Co-operative Society, Asda, Morrisons, The Co-operative as well as local independent shops. The company retains a long-established relationship with the East of England Co-op, supplying its retail stores with bespoke products under its ‘Sourced Locally’ range. We also hold the honour of manufacturing their secret and historic Craskes sausages.
